Looks as if Second Chance Animal Adoption will need a lot more chances if it is to succeed with the kind of thinking represented by the current president of its board of directors.
Ms. Hamerslough is defaming a totally dedicated and hard-working crew of over a decade, which has been responsible for the adoptions and sterilizations of thousands of pets in this county, and the dream of an animal shelter, which now appears to have been dashed to bits.
Her poor management has alienated practically all of the former crew, which has caused, as people will notice, cats being housed in the Thrift Store and no advertising for dogs at all.
I fear that the dogs are now being put down. What else can we think?
There is no accountability. This is exactly what SCAA was formed to prevent, except in the most dire cases of ill health or poor temperament. Even some of those have been fostered until they passed away naturally.
What a shame and a waste.

Editor's Note: Rhonda Hamerslough, president for the board for Second Chance Animal Adoption, said the agency has not euthanized any dogs. In 2007, homes were found for 82 cats and 38 dogs.
