Road workers have done a fantastic job this winter
Have you ever sat at home on Thanksgiving Day wondering if your husband was going to make it home to at least be able to eat dinner with the rest of the family and be thankful?
Or on Christmas day, wondering if he was going to make it for Christmas dinner or to open your gifts together with the rest of the family?
Even though my husband is retired, not by choice, I am still doing it because of my sons.
And then wherever I go, I hear people cussing the county snow plowers or the city snow plowers about "they plowed my driveway full" or "they put too much snow on my lawn and ripped up part of my yard," even though they have the right-of-way from the center of the road plus so many feet.
You people should be grateful these people are plowing in the wee hours of the mornings or late at nights and on weekends when they too would like to be at home watching a football game on TV or just enjoying their family.
Or to be home all day for the holidays instead of out plowing to make sure you and your family are able to get wherever you are going or so your family can get to you.
But they can't if it's snowing; they have to go out and plow. It's their job. So what if you have to go out and shovel a little snow? It doesn't take hours like it does for them.
Why not wait until the snow plow goes by before you go out. After all you do know they are going to go by, and when you see them coming, go out and move your car and they won't plow your car in.
Sometimes they only get to come home for maybe four hours because it is still snowing and they have to continue to plow. This is, after all, North Idaho, and if you don't like the snow, move.
I for one think that the people of Boundary County Road and Bridge and the City of Bonners Ferry Street Department are doing a fantastic job. Keep up the great work.
Thank you.
And by the way I love the snow and my family knows it.
