Former Bonners Ferry resident Helen Dorothy Leeright, 85, of Lincoln, Neb., passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008.

Helen was born in Bonners Ferry to Zinnie and Helen Dechtman Foust.

She graduated from Bonners Ferry High School and married Jay Robert Leeright on July 11,1942.

Helen did her nurse's training at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash., and worked as a registered nurse for 25 years in Cheyenne, Wyo., and Boise. She moved to Lincoln in 2003 from Boise.

Helen belonged to the Lutheran church.

She is survived by daughters Robin Spoeneman and her husband, Tim, of Bancroft, Neb., and Sherry Leeright of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren Tracie Hrnicek of Lincoln, Tara Hauck of Waukee, Iowa, and Scott Spoeneman, Portland, Ore.; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six siblings.
