George Alfred Turner
Graveside services for George Alfred Turner, 83, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry with burial to follow.
George passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008, at his home in Bonners Ferry.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1925, in Los Angles to Toy Price and Christina K. Duprea Turner.
George was educated in California.
During World War II, he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Farragut and Oklahoma.
After discharge, George married Marjorie Hamilton on May 25, 1944.
Throughout his life, George worked in oil and gas fields, mostly in California. In 2000, he retired and moved to Bonners Ferry.
Throughout his life, George was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and growing worms.
Survivors include his loving wife and friend of 64 years, Marjorie Mae; daughters Joni Joseph and her husband, Mike, and Linda Sawyer, all Bonners Ferry; grandchildren Mike Sean and his wife, Sunshine, Heather Lynn Frankson, Eric Frankson and his wife, Cyndi, and Joshua Joseph, all of Bonners Ferry; great-grandchildren Maty and Mariah Joseph of Bonners Ferry; a sister, Marie Peck of Leavenworth, Wash.; a half-sister, Rosalie Davis of Wenatchee, Wash.
George will always be remembered for his loving nature.
