June is National Adopt-A-Cat month
Second Chance Animal Adoption Inc. of Bonners Ferry is celebrating the American Humane Association’s national Adopt-A-Cat month this June.
It is the perfect time to promote cat/kitten adoptions because the spring and summer months typically bring a surge of cats to the nation’s shelters.
When cats are not neutered or spayed, they easily reproduce, and the spring and summer is that time of year when cats are more active, resulting in more kittens showing up at our door.
We encourage people to visit and meet all the great cats and kittens that we have located at our Thrift Store on Lincoln Street. This is temporary housing until we complete a shelter. They are looking for someone to make a permanent commitment and adopt them.
In an effort to make lives better, this year’s Adopt-A-Cat Month is sponsored by 9Lives Cat Food, which last year led to a nationwide campaign to promote the adoption of one million cats from the country’s shelters.
To continue the momentum, SCAA encourages people to enrich their lives by making a lifelong commitment and adopt a cat or kitten.
In celebration of Adopt-A-Cat month, SCAA will be having a large adopt-a-thon, thrift store bag sale, food and baked goods on Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Please join us at our thrift store located at 6647 Lincoln Street behind Panhandle State Bank for this fun-filled day and consider adopting a cat or kitten.
