Ronald Gene “Ike” Eisenhour

Ronald Gene “Ike” Eisenhour, 69, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at his home near Bonners Ferry. Services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.

Ike was born Jan. 13, 1939, in Okmulgee, Okla., to William and Vivian Green Eisenhour. The family moved to California, where Ike later married Susan Walker and they had four children Dori, Gary, Alan, and Brian. Brian died as an infant.

Ike was active in Little League and girls’ softball, acting as coach for his children’s teams.

He worked for the state of California for 30 years in various positions and retired early with a disability.

In 1982, Ike married Diane Brougher, and to this marriage, children Kyle and Cassie were born.

Ike and his family moved to Bonners Ferry in June 2005.

Ike was a member of The Rod Benders, where he served as president. He also did pin striping for 50 years.

Ike was an avid hotrod enthusiast. He loved to fish, cherished his dogs and loved the community whole-heartedly. Ike was proud of all of his children and their accomplishments.

Ike is survived by his children Dori, Gary, Alan, Kyle and Cassie; his wife, Diane; brother, William; and grandchildren Lindsay, Brandon and Tyler.

He also was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda.
