Idaho State Veteran’s Service Officer, will be in Bonners Ferry to answer questions about current veterans benefits, assist with ongoing claims, and take new claims for benefits for eligible veterans and their dependents. Veterans in need of these services are encouraged to be at VFW Post No. 3622, located at 6035 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Individuals wishing to set up an appointment for this Outreach program can contact Jim Wilson at 267-8611.

Walk-ins will be seen as time allows.

July 19

David Thompson Bicentennial Commemorative Quilt Raffle will be held at noon at Boundary County Historical Society Museum. Tickets are $25 and on sale at the museum.

Quilt Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Boundary County Fairgrounds.

July 22

Boundary County Extension Office will hold a Native Habitat Tour to Selkirk Crest and Pyramid Lake from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This tour will include high alpine meadows, sub-alpine plants and trees, glaciers and geology. Registration is required one week before tour. Cost is $10. Participants should meet at the extension office, wear hiking shoes and appropriate clothing, and bring a lunch and binoculars. Yaak Elementary School Annual Fundraising Benefit. BBQ, Yard & Craft Sale, Auction & Raffle outside at the Dirty Shame & Yaak River Tavern.

Yard & Craft Sale will be held from noon to 5 p.m., families, groups & vendors welcome, $10 donation for a seller’s table.
