Restorium receives grant

| June 27, 2008 9:00 PM

The Restorium has an added layer of security.

Friends of the Restorium is happy to announce the arrival of a new emergency generator. The Restorium Emergency Generator Project was funded in part by a $25,000 grant from The Inland Northwest Community Foundation's Community Strategies Fund, a $3,000 grant from Idaho Community Foundation and $18,200 from Friends of the Restorium.

Friends of the Restorium, a non-profit organization, was formed in 2003 to insure a bright future for this wonderful facility-truly a local treasure. In 1976, Frank Church sponsored a piece of legislation that made it possible for the Restorium, a county-run assisted living facility, to accept Medicaid payments. This means, if assisted living becomes necessary, seniors of all income levels have a safe, cozy place to stay.

Sunday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be the fourth annual barbecue fundraiser, a fun family event held in the garden at the Restorium. This is a good chance to see the Restorium and show your support. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children, families $20. There will be music, lots of good food: hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, baked beans and pies.

As Boundary County braces for an influx of retirees, we are more fortunate than most communities; we have a debt free, affordable facility in place, up and running. Come and check it out.
