TrussTek calls back laid-off workers

TrussTek is slowly bringing back 12 employees laid off on the first of January.

For the past two weeks, the Three-Mile area company has called back eight full-time employees. The other four are expected to come back soon.

“We laid off because work was so slow,” said production manager Steve Kauffman.

TrussTek manufactures roof trusses.

The business has 28 full-time employees. Kauffman said he expects to hire up to 22 new employees for the summer.
