Cooking with Sarah
“Cooking with Sarah” will run weekly. The column features recipes from readers.
This week's recipe was submitted by Kim Charland, the new office manager at the Bonners Ferry Herald. The mother of five moved to Bonners Ferry two years ago from Sandpoint.
Kim usually makes this summer salad for holidays.
“My kids love it,” she said. “I never have leftovers.”
Ingredients
29-ounce can fruit cocktail
29-ounce can tropical fruit
2 cups of whip topping
3 bananas, sliced
2 apples, chopped
2 cups white or colored small marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup frozen strawberries, sliced
Drain both cans of fruit. Mix all fruit in bowl. Add whip topping, marshmallows and nuts. Serves six.
