Spreading the Word

Jenny Whittaker and Forest Graham were married at 3 p.m. Saturday at Great Northwest Territories event center in Naples.

Jenny is the daughter of Debby and Bruce Whittaker of Naples.

Forest is the son of Carol and Jim Graham of Paradise Valley.

Brianne Dirks was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Tye, Casey Frederickson and Courtney Tucker.

Best man was Aaron Tye. Ushers were Keith Kennedy and Tony McCalmant.

Jenny and Forest graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1998 and 1992, respectively.

Jenny has an associate degree in graphic design from North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene. She is a graphic designer for Fleet Graphics in Bonners Ferry.

Her husband, who had been living in Ferndale, Wash., is a district service representative for Yamaha.

The couple will live in Bonners Ferry.

A reception followed at the Great Northwest Territories on Mountain Meadows Road, which is owned by Brenda and Dennis Liermann. The Liermanns and their extended family catered the reception.

During the reception, Matthew Tucker, 10, was dancing up a storm with his grandmother, Debby Whittaker. Matthew is the son of John and Stephanie Tucker, who are moving from Jackman, Maine, to Republic, Wash. John works for the U.S. Border Patrol and has also lived in Phoenix, Alaska and Montana.

Teresa Becker recently gave a presentation on her trip to Thailand at United Methodist Church. Teresa and her husband, Marty, traveled to Thailand from Jan. 24 to 30 for their 30th wedding anniversary.

Dottie Gray stopped by The Herald to let folks know about a program at the University of Idaho in Moscow, which she believes some in Bonners Ferry would be interested in attending. Authors Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin will share their story about bringing education to a school-starved village in Pakistan.

The presentation will be made at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in Memorial Gym.

Several local people have either read or studied their book, “Three Cups of Tea.”

Larry and Barb Nelson led a local book study group. Others who have read the book are Dean and Elaine Peterson, Norm and Katherine Braatz, Jeannette Levig and Elsie Hollenbeck.
