Bonners Ferry Golf going to State

Bonners Ferry High School Golf team won the District 1 3A tournament at Mirror Lake golf course on Monday with a team total of 333.

“Everyone, including the other schools, was a little nervous to start because it being the district tournament,” said Badger Head Coach Chad Deitz. “Once their nerves settled in, everyone played very well.”

Kellogg finished second with a team total of 358 followed by St. Maries 372, Timberlake 414 and Priest River 433.

Bonners Ferry and Kellogg will represent the north at the State tourney at Clear Lakes Country Club in Buhl on May 12 and 13.

Low round medalist went to Bonners Ferry’s Dillon Deitz with a 77; Derek Deitz and Carey Reynolds tied with 81; Aaron Moe shot 94; and Kyle Russell scored 106.

“I was very pleased,” said Chad Deitz. “It was nice to see Dillon break through and finally score where he should be.”
