Bonners Ferry Girls Softball Team fell short in its bid for a district tournament bid on May 1.

With Priest River defeating the Badgers 12-0, the girls ended their season.

Highlights included several outstanding plays by Desi Aitken, Chelsea Taggart, Melissa Kelson and Catlin Clausen. 

“The entire team fought hard throughout the game,” said head coach Lynda Ekstrom. “The team performed well on season and showed their ability to function as a team and take away a winning attitude every game.” 

“The girls have learned the key that the score does not always indicate whether you are successful,” Ekstrom continued. “Each and every game the team and coaches were complimented by both the umpires and opposing coaches stating what a positive the team was and their constant improvement.”
