Fire destroys two trucks at mud bog, 11 arrested
Bruce Behrman has some doubts about the story behind a fire that destroyed two late model pickups at the Moyie Mud Bog at 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
The man, who allegedly started the fire, told Behrman, who hosted the three-day event attended by 2,000, that he was trying to ignite his campfire with gasoline when he was caught on fire and threw the gas can into the back of one of the trucks.
Behrman was told by police the fire was ruled as accidental, but he begs to differ. He claims there wasn’t a campfire within about 40-feet of the destroyed Chevrolet and Dodge owned by two Athol residents.
The man who started the fire was treated and released at Boundary Community Hospital for burns, Behrman.
