For the first time in recent history, a Boundary County Little League team on May 5 defeated a Sandpoint team behind the pitching and hitting of Rusty Britt.

Britt threw seven strikeouts in six innings and added two singles and a double to help the Bonners Ferry Major League Tigers defeat the Sandpoint White Sox 6-3.

In the fifth inning, Britt led off with a single, Chase Hannahs walked and Josiah Owinyo drove both in with a double to center field.

In Minor League action, darkness ended a two-inning game on May 5 between the Mariners and Cardinals, with a score of 7-3.

Mariners pitcher Marqus Banning stuck out four batters and gave up three hits to hold the Cardinals to three runs.

In a re-match on May 8 between the teams, the Cardinals defeated the Mariners 9-2.

Davis Merrifield pitched the first two innings for the Cardinals. He struck out four batters and gave up one run. Caleb Blackmore finished the third inning with three strikeouts.

The Mariners finished the game with three strikeouts.

Finally, the Cardinals defeated the Red Sox 5-10 on May 5. The Red Sox opened the game with four hits and 10 runs, while the team’s pitchers threw seven strikeouts in four innings.
