Jereme Grove hopes to make money playing with Viper Paintball Field and Store in Pleasant Valley.

“It is a hobby, but driving truck isn’t looking so good anymore,” said Grove. “What a better way to make money than playing.”

Located at 1580 Lookout View Road, the course is lies on 15 acres owned by Grove’s father, Don Grove.

After four months of construction, the course will open on Saturday, May 17.

“I was actually just going to put in a course for some of the guys,” said Jereme Grove, who has played paintball for four years. “We were talking to people and there seemed to be a lot of interest in it so I decided to start one and see how it goes.”

Viper Paintball Store will offer guns, balls and C02 tanks. People also can order merchandise.

“If you can dream of it, I can order it,” said Grove.

Gun rental will be $20 a day, which includes a C02 tank, 500 paintballs and a day of play.

Viper Paintball Field and Store will open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. two weekends a month.

Due to insurance regulations players have to be at least 9 years old and must buy course balls to play. Players also must wear proper face masks.

“At some point, once this is up and going next year, I would like to put on a few speed ball tournaments,” said Grove.
