Moyie residents urged to attend meeting

With the recent passing of Joe Mesenbrink, the position of mayor is open to all citizens of Moyie Springs.

If selected by a majority of the current city council, the appointee will serve the remaining term as mayor.

If the council decides to appoint one of their fellow councilmen to be mayor, then a vacancy for a city council member will be open. This position will also be filled by a majority selection of the city council.

I urge all citizens to attend the next council meeting (7 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at city hall) to either watch the proceedings or "put their hat in the ring" for the vacant position. It is a great way to get involved with city government and earn some extra cash.
