Only way to manage wolves is to get rid of them

| November 13, 2008 8:00 PM

The Idaho Anti-Wolf Coalition has said for 10 years that the Canadian wolves “dumped” in Idaho in 1995 and 1996 would never be delisted or hunted.

The coalition has rightly claimed that the “delisting and hunting” Canadian wolves was a myth.

Now the federal government has taken back Canadian wolf management and any control from the three affected states of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana.

Agency people and bureaucrats, both federal and state, which include the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Idaho Fish and Game and Pro-wolf state politicians have supported this misguided out of control Canadian wolf disaster.

There will never be any help from the federal courts as the federal judges know so little about what wolves do. It’s pathetic. They think wolves only eat moles and mice. Canadian wolves are animals of mass destruction.

The bungled “experimental and non-essential dumping” of these wolves in Idaho by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and their pro-wolf friends have caused the worst wildlife disaster in our state’s history.

Lack of any wolf management plan has allowed the Canadian wolf number to explode out of control. There is no way to manage this class one predator in Idaho because we have the roughest terrain and topography in the lower 48 states. The only way to manage Canadian wolves is to get rid of them.

The promises and provisions of Congress have been ignored. The annual studies have not been performed, citing lack of personal, equipment, funding and weather. Can a Canadian wolf program that has flagrantly breached the public trust in our state be allowed to exclusively manage, audit and control critical wildlife issues? It is clear the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has a conflict of interest and have dealt in bad faith for the past 12 years.

Because of the lies, myths, fraud science and biology by the pro-wolf advocates, it is time to stop any future Canadian wolf agreements and policies between the federal government and the state of Idaho. There must be new responsible managers who understand what wolves do and why they can never be managed in Idaho at any number.

This out-of-control Canadian wolf program must be stopped to halt the slaughter of Idaho’s wildlife, serious livestock predation, mutilation of family pets and to protect our children and citizens of Idaho from being attacked, maimed and killed.

The following can help get this disastrous wolf problem stopped:

• Support the Idaho Anti-Wolf Coalitions upcoming new Anti-Wolf Initiative.

• You (call all your friends) call your local state legislators and ask about their stand on the Idaho Wolf problem. If they are not adamant for their removal, tell them you will not vote for or support them.

• Support legislators who will be introducing anti-wolf legislation this January.
