Lorreta Faye Watson Fairchild, 79
Former Bonners Ferry resident Lorreta Faye Watson Fairchild, 79, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Valley Vista Care Center in Sandpoint.
Services were held Tuesday at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home with private burial in Grandview Cemetery.
Lorreta was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Tekoa, Wash., the third child of Clark J. and Lucille Knight Watson.
Loretta married Harold F. Fairchild June 14, 1947. As a young married couple, they left Bonners Ferry so Harold could attend school.
In 1970, Harold ended his career with Boeing and moved his family back to Bonners Ferry. They made their home on the North Bench.
Due to failing health, Lorreta and Harold lived at Valley Vista Residential Center for the last five years.
Lorreta loved to sew. She made beautiful quilts and clothes, ranging from items for her family to detailed Barbie clothes.
She also loved to bake, ceramics, crafts, gardening and crocheting.
Lorreta was very gifted with her hands. But most of all she loved spending time with her 14 grandchildren.
Lorreta will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband; her sister Patricia; and children Jim Fairchild and his wife, Juanita, Harold L. Fairchild, Pennie Frame and her husband, Chuck, Cindy Atkins and her husband, Mick, and Scott Fairchild and his wife, Amanda.
Also surviving are grandchildren Troy, Marcey, Clark, Robbi, Glen, Susie, Gus, Keith, Jessica, Daniel, Julia, Ashley, Russell and Jada Fairchild; Andrew and Ally Frame; and Douglas, Travis, Angela and Kody Atkins.
Additional survivors are great-grandchildren Reagon, Colin, Sondra, McKayla, Austin, Dalton, Joshua, Jordon, Travis Jr., Brody and Deegan Fairchild; and several nieces and nephews.
