Randall “Randy” Wade Parish, 54

Randall “Randy” Wade Parish, 54, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Starbuck, Wash.

Randy was born Aug. 13, 1954, to Peggy and Troy Parish in Walla Walla, Wash.

He was raised in Eastport and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1972.

Randy was an outstanding boxer and won a Golden Gloves Championship that same year.

He married Karen Knoles on Dec. 17, 1973, and they had two children.

Randy worked numerous jobs in and around the area, including logging and managing Border Inn Duty Free Store in Eastport. He also built a beautiful home near Moyie Springs, where Randy lived until 2005.

He then purchased a recreational vehicle and traveled with his family before settling in Starbuck.

Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and being outdoors. He also wrote poetry.

Randy was known as a fun-loving, kind, generous and welcoming man. He always had a big smile and was happiest in the company of others. Randy always knew how to make people laugh.

He was friendly, lively and had a wonderful sense of humor. Randy will be remembered as a friend to many and will be dearly missed by those who love him.

He is survived by his son, Wade; daughter, Jenny; mother, Peggy; brothers Conner, Barry and Jeff; eight grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his father in 2005.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
