Writer offers suggested reading regarding wolves

In last week’s Herald, Thursday, Nov. 13, I found some interesting remarks in “Hunters finding little success” and the comments on management of wolves. Who and what can you believe and how much information is being avoided?

Everyone has access to the Internet, so here is some food for thought:

• “Beware of Natural Wildlife Management” by Dr. Valerius Geist.

• Article/ Dr. Valerius Gist, “Where wolves have become common.”

• “When do wolves become dangerous to humans?” By Dr. Valerius Geist.

Items two and three are quite informative and for those in wolf habitat, it should be a must read. As you might guess, there are more articles like this: Were Native People Keystone Predators? “A Continuous-Time Analysis of Wildlife Observation Made by Lewis and Clark in 1804-1806” by Charles E. Kay.

Now for those that are looking at winter time and like to read, there’s a couple books that should be read by both sides of the isle.

• “The Wolves of Alaska” by Jim Rearden.

• “Wolves in Russia by Will Graves.

These two books are based on science and cold hard facts.
