Lorena Jane Ereman Greenwood, 69
Lorena Jane Ereman Greenwood, 69, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint.
Lorena was born June 21, 1939, in Coeur d’Alene to Cecil and Enid Bair Ereman of Sandpoint. She attended Washington School, the old Farmin School, Sandpoint High School on Euclid and graduated from Sandpoint High School.
Following graduation, Lorena worked in Spokane, Wash., before returning to Sandpoint to work for Roy Murray at his radio, TV and appliance shop.
In 1962, Lorena went to work for Bonner County Clerk's office. She served under county clerks Doris Kenney, Cliff Chapin, Rick Larkin and Marie Scott.
Lorena touched many lives and made many friends in her 42 years with the county government, including as chief deputy, court clerk, chief election judge and jury commissioner. She retired in July 2004.
Lorena enjoyed bowling, and for many years was involved in multiple bowling leagues in Sandpoint. She was an officer of the Sandpoint Bowling Association and represented this organization as a delegate to the Women's Bowling Congress annual meeting.
Lorena was a member of the Women of the Moose and held different offices. She also was a member of the Eagle's Auxiliary, where she held many offices.
Lorena married Bob Deubel of Sandpoint on April 10, 1965, and they had children Greg, Rick and Susan. Lorena and Bob divorced, and on July 23, 1985, Lorena married Dwayne Greenwood of Sagle. He passed in 1990.
Lorena loved to travel through the western United States spending time in Oregon, Reno, Las Vegas and California. In 1993, she traveled to Australia.
Lorena enjoyed collecting butterfly memorabilia, dancing, going to casinos, good jokes, listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will remembered for her zest for life, her wonderful sense of humor and her smile.
Lorena is survived by her sister Wanda (Gene) Savage of Sandpoint; her daughter Susan (Paul) Greenwood of Sagle; son Rick Deubel of Spokane; step-son Steve Greenwood of Sagle; former daughter-in-law Wanda (Brian) Krummland of Tri-Cities, Wash.; grandchildren, Lisa (Tim) Laude of Sagle, John Greenwood of Sagle, Christopher Krummland of Oregon, Elizabeth Crider, Jessica Krummland and Timothy Krummland, all of the Tri-Cities, Darline Greenwood of Sagle, and Brooke and Desiree Deubel of Spokane; great-grandchildren Kelly Laude of Sagle and Ben Crider of the Tri-Cities; nieces Renee (Greg) Blythe and sons Adrian (Angie) Menard and Dante Menard of Coeur d’Alene; Linda (Adam) Ednie, Amanda and Logan Ednie of Sandpoint; a nephew. Tim (Marcey) Savage of Sandpoint; Trudy Savage of Washington and Lee Savage of Sagle; a cousin, Marilla (Kay) Kemmis of Sandpoint; additional nieces, nephews and cousins in Idaho, Washington and Oregon; and many friends.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Greg Deubel.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Coffelt Funeral Chapel in Sandpoint. Inurnment will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to a time of sharing immediately after at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall.
