AJ's Lanes wins county pool league
AJ’s Lanes took first place in this year’s Boundary County Pool League, winning 226 games.
Team members Harry Shearer, Art Morin, Keith Blockman, Aaron Rutherford and Eddie Madden Jr. were recognized during the league’s recent season-end Trophy Presentation Party at the Moyie Club. Also recognized were top male player Andy Eckberg and top female Cecille Daum.
Winners of the pool tournament held during the party were Mark Gale, first; Turk Bright, second; and Shearer, third.
Sportsman B took second place for the season, winning 221 games. Team members were Bright, Billy Andrews, Mike Beramy and Jon Schmier.
Northwoods took third, winning 213 games. Members were Chet Lamoreux, Gale, Gregg DeBoer, Sandy Curtis and Les Jelineck.
Other teams were Sportsman Club A, fourth place with 207 games; Moyie Club B, fifth with 200 games; Moyie Springs Store A, sixth with 196 games; Mugsy’s, seventh with 191 games; Alpine A, eighth with 186 games; Moyie Springs Store B, ninth with 151 games, Alpine B, 10th with 149 games; Moyie Club A, 11th with 140 games; Moyie Club C, 12th with 137 games; and Last Chance Saloon, 13th place with 135 games.
Players who made the 8 ball on the break were Shearer, Beramy, Lamoreux and Gale.
Those who ran the table were Pat Crinch, Gale, Gary Olson, Helene Adams, Mike Summerfield and Keith Blockman.
