O'Connor has high standards

| October 16, 2008 9:00 PM

I believe John O'Connor has what it takes to serve as a Boundary County Commissioner.

My knowledge of John is drawn from a 25-year acquaintance as a fellow Main Street merchant and as a frequent Bonners Books customer.

John is a positive constant on Main Street, operating his business in an attractive and dependable manner. John O'Connor has high standards, is focused, detail-oriented, honest and consistent. I have always found him to be a good listener and politely respectful. John leads by example.

County growth, changing circumstances and lean economic times present our community with challenges including zoning and solid waste management. I believe John O'Connor has the vision to lead Boundary County forward developing policies which will benefit future generations.

His business experience will be an asset to routine county management. I believe John has the interest, tenacity and strength of character that not only generates good decisions, but implements them as well.

Although I may not agree with John on every issue, I believe he is a candidate who will listen, gather facts, sort out issues, make reasonable decisions and provide sound leadership as a citizens' representative.

I believe we are very fortunate that a person with John O'Connor's experience and quiet integrity has offered to step forward and serve our community as a county commissioner. Remember to vote Nov. 4.
