Woman arressted for methamphetamine

A Bonners Ferry woman was charged with possesion of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Aug. 11.

The suspect is 24-year-old Mandy Haworth.

Idaho State Police pulled over a vehicle driven by Dale Kuehn for speeding.  During the traffic stop Kuehn gave police permission to search his vehicle. 

According to court records, the officer found a pill bottle with one, 10 mg methadone table that was prescribed to Mandy Haworth.   ISP also found  a straw with a white powdery residue and asked Haworth what it was.

 Haworth admitted to the officer that she crushed methadone and snorted it for a longer lasting effect.  After police tested the residue, it proved to be methamphetamine, according to court records. 

During the search a black camera bag was discovered in the trunk hidden in the quarter panel.  The contents of the bag were an electronic scale  and several sandwich baggies, both with marijuana residue.

Kuehn stated to the officer than he has never sold marijuana and used the scale to measure the drug when he is buying it.

Haworth was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and Kuehn with misdemeanor possesion of a controlled substance.

 Haworth will be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Sept. 10,  and Kuehn will have a pre-trial conference at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 in Boundary County Courthouse.
