Far North Deli has opened at 6803 South Main St. in Bonners Ferry.

Owner Michele Gagnon moved to Bonners Ferry from Arizona for the small town feel that reminded her of her home town 30 years ago.

Gagnon has experience in catering and says her deli is a cross between a deli and a delicatessen.

“You can not only buy meats and cheeses by the pound, but order sandwiches and sit down to enjoy your meal,” she said.

Gagnon sells dozens of types of breads,  deli meats, cheeses and several different salads by the pound, all free of MSG.  Everything is fresh, high quality and available at a fair price, she said.

“I also offer homemade cookies and pastries daily for something sweet,” Gagnon said.

Build your own sandwiches are be made to order and call-in or faxed orders are accepted.  Party trays are available for birthdays, office parties, Superbowl Sunday and private parties.

Gift certificates are available, and Gagnon has weekly business card drawings for a free sandwich.

The deli also features Far North Coffee blended and roasted by the owner of Far North Outfitters.

“I am expecting to expand and would like to add more seating in the spring,” said Gagnon.

“The community has really been supportive of me since I came here three years ago,” said continued.  “The business people and people in general have been very encouraging.”

Far North Deli, which employs two, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To fax or call in an order, call 267-2255.
