| December 3, 2009 8:00 PM

M. Pearl Davis, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry.

Funeral services were held Nov. 24 at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. Burial followed in Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Pearl was born April 25, 1929, in Ehrenfeld, Pa., to Robert and Mildred Lobb. She was the oldest of nine surviving children, having four brothers and three sisters. A set of twins died at birth.

Pearl graduated from Houtzdale Woodward Joint High School in 1947. She began a life's journey that allowed her to travel extensively and to reside in Germany, Hawaii and several states including Missouri, Texas and Alaska.

Pearl held many jobs during her lifetime primarily in the service industry where her sunny disposition resulted in her acquiring many loyal and long-term friends.

She received additional education and graduated from Northwest School of Hotel and Motel Management. Pearl subsequently held several managerial positions including manager for a company that manufactured culvert pipes in Alaska.

Pearl moved to Bonners Ferry from Alaska, and shortly thereafter, opened Carriage Trade Dress Shoppe. Though this business venture was successful, she ultimately joined the wait staff of the Chic-n-Chop restaurant, where she remained a highly valued employee for 15 years.

Although Pearl had two daughters, one on the East Coast and one on the West Coast, she considered Earl Erickson her “family.”

Pearl's superstitions nature presented itself in various quirky sayings that endeared her to her customers. She was known by many and loved by all who knew her.

Pearl is survived by daughters Marian (Lorrie) Corsi of Fredonia, N.Y., and Karen (Greg) Krape of Renton, Wash.; granddaughters Jill Caroli (Peter), JoLynne Miller (Gary) and Kate Wakefield; three great-grandchildren; brothers Ronald Lobb of Cocoa, Fla., and Raymond Lobb of Arizona; and sisters, Boatrice Kercher of Allentown, Pa., Delores Shaffer and Louise Cherit of Satsuma, Fla.
