Valley View Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Sarah Macias each year at Thanksgiving has her students mathematically figure out the size of the deck on the Mayflower. The students and teacher drew a line on the basketball courts the size of the deck and invited fourth- and fifth-grade classes to join them in filling the deck with the number of people who were on the Mayflower. In this photo are 78 students and their teachers occupying the space that carried 102 passengers.
