Guidelines for Care n Share clarified

| December 10, 2009 8:00 PM

I would like to clear up some information out there about Christmas.

Christmas is for children and I have based the Care-N-Share Program on this ideal from its conception. It doesn’t matter what parents do, children should have a nice Christmas.

I have a great group of people that work very hard to make sure that every child on our program has that Christmas. All the donations, money or gifts stay in Bonners Ferry.

We do not have a parent company that gets the leftovers, and there are no administration costs in our program; it all stays in our town.

We have been helping the community of Bonners Ferry for 28 years now and I feel we are very successful in what we do. We don’t go door to door and ask for donations; we just put the information out to the public and ask them to do what they can.

This year is especially hard for many people, and even the people that donate to us. I think the people that are on the program need to know that many if not most of the people that donate are not wealthy, but are the average person working hard to make a living and just feel they want to give some back.

To all the people that donate to the program just know how much it is appreciated.
