Planning and Zoning

| December 10, 2009 8:00 PM

Boundary County commissioners are seeking letters of interest from residents wishing to serve on the Boundary County Planning and Zoning Commission.

Two people will be appointed to vacated positions. One term expires in January 2011 and the other in January 2012; appointments will begin immediately. There is also a four-year vacancy that will begin on Feb. 1.

Candidates must have been a full-time resident of Boundary County for a minimum of two years.

The planning and zoning commission meets the third Thursday of each month and hears a variety of land-use applications, weighing the pros and cons of proposals and rendering recommendations or decisions based on the provisions of the county zoning and subdivision ordinance.

Those interested should mail letters to Planning, P.O. Box 419, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, 83805; e-mail them to planning@boundarycountyid.org; or fax them to 267-2105.

In addition, those submitting letters of interest are asked to attend the planning and zoning meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec.17, for interviews by sitting planning and zoning commissioners.

For additional information, call zoning administrator Mike Weland at 267-7212.
