Middle School Wrestling

Seven Boundary County Middle School wrestlers won championships during the North Idaho Jr. High District Tournament, leading the Badgers to win the event at Timberlake High School.

Champions were Connor Bennett 91, John Brown 98, Parker Davis 130, Chase Hannahs 144, Quinn Cummings 151, Cody Luckey 170 and John Gaspar 185.

The Badgers scored 221 points. Timberlake followed with 156.

“We were really competitive throughout the whole year,” said coach Eddy Invernon. “They’re really a good group of kids. They have a good future in the sport. (High school) Coach (Conrad) Garner and I are pretty excited about these kids at the high school next year.”

All but three middle school wrestlers are eighth-graders.

Tournament runners-up were Matt Tucker 86 and Anthony Skeen 160.

Third-place finishers were Riley Wall 80, Luke Reoch 110, Ben Neumeyer 116, Aaron Klause 137 and Bradley Thompson 160.

Other participants were Garrett Bennett and Chris Stone, both 105.
