Scott Hittle of Bonners Ferry spent most of his adult life working in the timber industry.  Hittle began when he graduated high school in 1991. In 1994 he became a self-load log truck driver and continued this for 14 years.

Hittle changed his path in 2006.  He now owns Universal Well Drilling.  The business fascinated him, and he made the change when the timber industry and the economy were still thriving.  He feels that there is a good future in water and is expanding the business and hopes that someday his boys will work with him and then take it over.

“When I got out of the timber industry, it was still thriving,” Hittle said. “I was a little worried about the future of the timber industry, and I wanted to get into something that I could bring my boys along with me and teach them the business.  I also spend  more time at home with my family.”
