Government best at overspending

| January 5, 2009 8:00 PM

I was humored by the ‘big girl’ who wrote a letter supporting the new proposed $865,000 school levy. The writer seemed to understand that the economy is poor and that overspending is bad.

Unfortunately, she doesn’t understand that governments, like liberals, are the best at overspending other people’s money.

If the local school district would stay within its $10 million regular revenues, which already include about one half of our property taxes, they would not need the special levy.

It’s long overdue that the school district heed the ‘big girls’ solution to the problem, “ just build a bridge” to less spending and “get over it.”

Perhaps the gal who wrote the letter should keep her own “big girl panties on and deal with it” by taking a course in logic and common sense.
