Robert Scott Rtliff, 49

| January 15, 2009 8:00 PM

Robert Scott Ratliff, 49, passed away Jan. 5, 2009, at his Moyie Springs home.

Funeral services were held on Friday at Mountain View Mennonite  Church in Bonners Ferry. Interment followed at Mountain View Mennonite Cemetery.

Scott was born Dec. 5, 1959, to Robert Lee and Carol Jean Ratliff in Covina, Calif.

Scott’s school years were spent in Southern California.

He left home at a young age to travel. Scott’s travels took him to Oregon, where he met the former Kim Colter. They married March 11, 1989, in Eureka, Mont. Together they had children Katrina, Miranda, Kris, Robert and Chane.

Scott enjoyed driving around looking for firewood and riding four-wheelers with his family. A top priority was hanging out with his three granddaughters. Often times, Scott would sneak off to the bakery for doughnuts, sharing them with his granddaughters.

No day started without coffee. To be a true Ratliff, you had to be able to drink coffee.

Scott was an animated person. What he did, he did to the fullest. He started a carpet cleaning business, putting his heart into the job and felt good about his endeavors.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife; children; grandchildren Brooke Colter, Jamie Kelly, Kimber Kelly, Allasondra Ratliff and Jayden Drapper; his mother; and a sister, Tracy and Michael Mason.

Scott was preceded in death by his father.
