Columbia Tractor makes donation to Second Chance Animal Adoption
Chris Matyi, manager Columbia Tractor and his staff love animals. It made “cents” to the organization to donate a John Deer riding lawn mower to a penny raffle that will raise dollars for Second Chance Animal Adoption’s new shelter.
“This is to help out the animals, I have three dogs and a cat,” said Matyi. Everyone (at Columbia Tractor) is an animal lover, not just me, this donation is made on behalf of the Columbia Tractor organization.”
A penny spent can be a penny that earns the winning ticket for the riding lawn mower worth $1,750. It has a 19.5 horse power Briggs and Stratton engine, two-pedal automatic transmission, 42” cutting width and 20” rear tires and includes a grass catcher.
2000 tickets are available for purchase. Each ticket is marked from 1 cent to $20. All tickets are placed in a drum. The tickets are picked by the purchaser who pays the amount written on the ticket. It is possible to win the riding mower for 1 cent, according to Rhonda Hammerslough executive director of SCAA.
“He (Matyi) is doing this because he is a huge animal lover and wants to see us raise money for the shelter,” Hammerslough said.
Tickets can be purchased at the SCAA thrift store at 6647 Lincoln St. in Bonners Ferry and at the Boundary County Fair in August. The drawing will be held after the fair.
