| July 23, 2009 9:00 PM

Monty McCay, 58, passed away Friday, July 10, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene from cancer with cancer and COPD.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Nov. 30, 1950, Monty attended Princeton High where he was a member of their elite track and field team until joining the Army and Special Forces in 1968.

During his service in Vietnam, Monty was awarded several medals, including the Vietnam Service medal with three bronze stars, an air medal and expert rifleman to mention a few.

His talent for art was a gift and we will cherish all he left behind.

We hope his dream of being able to help others will one day be realized through surviving wife, Renee McCay, and children. Monty is so very deeply missed and loved by all those who survived him.

Also surviving are his mother Lillie McCay; father William McCay; sisters Billie Jean, Linda and Lillian; and 10 daughters Katie, Jessica, Stacey, Monica, Evelyn, Lillian, Carolyn, Tricia, Fiona and Juanita; and son-in-laws Nathan Johnson and Scott Ickus.

Services will be announced at a later time for those who would like to say good-bye you are welcome.
