Luckey, Ryan, Invernon headed for wrestling tournaments

Three members of Bonners Ferry Wrestling Club qualified for Western Regionals in Pocatello from June 21-27 and also will compete in Nationals in Orem, Utah, from June 30 to July 3.

Joining returning state, regional and national placer Cody Luckey will be Seamus Ryan at 65-pound intermediate and Blaine Invernon at the 91-pound Schoolboy.

Luckey, Ryan and Invernon qualified for Western Regionals during the Kids State Greco & Freestyle Tournament in Meridan.

Luckey won championships in both Greco and Freestyle in 152-pound Schoolboy.

Ryan competed in a very tough weight class and finished fifth in Greco and seventh in Freestyle to qualify.

Invernon took second in the Greco, loosing to Luke Perry of Kuna Club from Boise, but got revenge the next day in the Freestyle tournament, bringing home first place and his third state championship.

A second year Schoolboy, Invernon rounded out his Kids’ career with two freestyle state titles, two runners-up and three, third-place finishes. He also took one Greco state title, three runners-up and two, third-place finishes.

Invernon and Luckey are also returning all-Americans for both Western Regionals and kids National.

Luke Reoch wrestled his way to a very impressive third-place finish in the 98-pound Schoolboy division in Meridian. This was his first year competing at the Kids Freestyle State Tournament.
