Alice M. McDonald

Alice M. McDonald passed away Saturday, June 14, 2009, at Boundary County Nursing Home in Bonners Ferry.

A gathering graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at Grandview Cemetery.

Alice was raised by her aunt and uncle in Copeland along the Kootenai River.  She attended school in Copeland and Bonners Ferry High School.

During Alice’s lifetime, she lived in California and Oregon and then returned to Bonners Ferry for her retirement years.

After returning home, Alice was active in the Senior Volunteer Program by greeting members, serving coffee and cleaning up after meals. She enjoyed making aprons, which she donated to various organizations, berry picking, flowers, gardening and visits from her sister, Gail, during the summers. 

Alice’s grandchildren will remember her best for her pinwheel cookies and speaking her mind.

Alice was preceded in death by her son Jim Tritt.

Survivors include Alice’s daughter Betty Ehrmantrout and her husband Gene; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
