Kara Eby

Kara Eby received the Engineering Outstanding Senior Graduate Award from University of Idaho.

The daughter of Leonard and Edna Eby of Bonners Ferry, Kara was selected to carry the engineering banner during the 2008 graduation. She also received awards for her senior project that involved designing and building an irrigation system for small acreage farmers in the mountains of El Salvador.

Eby’s team traveled to El Salvador over spring break to oversee the irrigation operation. The system is designed to bring water to crops during the drought. Crops raised include cabbage, beans, corn and strawberries.
