Eunice Lavonne Johnson, 86
Former Bonners Ferry resident Eunice Lavonne Johnson, 86, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, in Richland, Wash.
She was born on Jan. 24, 1923, in Oberon, N.D., to Albert and Loretta Ploium.
Eunice graduated from Oberon High School and went to nursing school.
Eunice married Ronald L. Johnson Nov. 24, 1945, in Moorhead, Minn. They lived and farmed in North Dakota until 1955 and then moved to Bonners Ferry. They stayed here until 1988 before moving to Spokane, Wash.
Eunice moved to Richland in 2003 and resided at Richland Gardens Assisted Living until her death.
Eunice loved the outdoors, being a farm-raised girl. She also liked gardening, arts and crafts, making friends, volunteering for church functions, and most of all, she loved her family.
Eunice is survived by children Robert Johnson of Spirit Lake, Darlene Johnson-Campbell and her husband, Henry, of Kennewick, Wash., David Johnson and his wife Roxanne of Bonners Ferry, Lynnell Johnson-Robertson and her husband, Richard, of Richland, and Mark Johnson of Benton City, Wash; and grandchildren Cory Johnson and his wife, Angie, of Old Town, Darla Johnson-Evans and her husband, Doug, Ronald Campbell and his wife, Amy, of Pasco, Wash., Jay and his wife, Laurie, of Moscow, Sean of Sultan, Wash., Chad and his wife, Kelly, of Texas, Stacey Johnson-Dorhofer and her husband, Jimmy, and James Dorhofer and his wife, Shannon, all of Bonners Ferry, Ralaunda Aschenbrenner of Richland, Wade Robertson and his wife, Sarah, of Hermiston, Ore., and Wesley Johnson of Bend, Ore.
Also surviving are great-grandchildren Tyler and Nicholas Johnson of Old Town, Brandon and Matt Evans, Cailynn and Skyler Campbell of Pasco, Thomas and Marissa of Moscow, Tyler, Ryan and Colby, all of Texas, Jaime Lynn Dorhofer, Taylor and Karlee, all of Bonners Ferry, Britteni, Chelsi and Samantha Aschenbrenner of Richland, and Kelson Robertson of Hermiston Oregon; and siblings Marlys, Beulah and Cheryl, all of North Dakota, Audry of Kennewick, Marlene of Portland, Ardis of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Kenneth Ploium of Oberon; and many neices and nephews.
Eunice was preceeded in death by her husband and son Steven Douglas, parents, and brothers Leslie, John and Albert.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry.
There will be a final memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27 at Maddock Cemetery in North Dakota.
There Eunice will be placed alongside her much loved Ronald.
