Historical society gets $3,000 grant

Boundary County Historical Society has received a $3,000 grant for new outdoor railroad interpretive signs on the exterior back wall of the museum in Bonners Ferry.
The exhibit will explore the 100-year history of the railroads in the county and its impact on the growth and development of the area.
The historical society also will create a brochure about the exhibit to be placed inside the museum, Bonners Ferry Visitors Center and surrounding hotels. Project director is Mike Woodward.
The Idaho Humanities Council awarded the grant. The non-profit is affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The council awarded $52,546 in grants to 41 organizations and individuals at its recent board meeting in Pocatello.
