A Moyie Springs sex offender, who three weeks ago got married in the Boundary County Jail, won’t see his new wife for at least two years.

Gary L. Lies, 35, on Tuesday admitted to having sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl and was sentenced to 2 to 10 years in prison.

Lies on March 1 married Jessica Herrera, 26, of Albany. Ore.

The marriage concerns Justin Gumm of Corvallis, Ore., who is the father to Herrera’s 18-month-old son.

The new Mrs. Lies has custody of the toddler as well as a 3-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy from two other men, according to Gumm.

“ I am a concerned father,” he told The Herald. “The thought of my son and the other two kids having to possibly live with that man is very upsetting.”

.“I want to get my son out of that situation and I wish I could get the other two kids out of harms way too; they are like my own,” he continued.  “I think Jessica has made a terrible anAd selfish decision.”

According to court records, Lies on Aug. 30 had sexual relations with the teenage girl. He was turned in by the victim’s family on Sept. 1. Lies fled and was  arrested in Albany on Nov. 9. He was charged with indecent acts with a child.

Lies pled guilty to assault.
