Bernadine “Toni” A. Kline

Bernadine “Toni” A. Kline passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Ace Elder Care in Bonners Ferry.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Grandview Cemetery. Interment will follow.

Toni was born April 23, 1918, in Iowa.

She married Ken Kline on Oct. 18, 1944.

After traveling back and forth from California to Idaho for a few years, they settled in Moyie Springs in the early 1960s.

Ken worked at Bonners Ferry City power plant in Moyie, retiring in 1975. Toni worked as a checker for Safeway in Bonners Ferry for several years before retiring.

Toni was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and Curly Q's home extension club.

She attended First Baptist Church for many years.

Toni always cherished her many friendships. She had a special fondness for cats and raised several during her lifetime.

In 1996, Toni moved to the Senior Apartments in Bonners Ferry. In 2001 she suffered a stroke and moved to the Huckleberry Retirement Home, which was later renamed Ace Elder Care, where she spent the last eight years of her life.

Toni was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister.

She is survived by a nephew, Ken Brink and his wife, Pam, of Bonners Ferry, and a a niece, Diane Craw and her husband, Gary, of Lake Havasu, Ariz.

Her family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Ace Elder Care for its many years of excellent care and kindness shown to Toni.
