E. Grace Rice, 92

E. Grace Rice, 92, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009, in Sandpoint of natural causes.

Private family services were held. Grace was buried next to her husband, Kenneth Rice, at Paradise Valley Cemetery.

Grace was born Jan. 12, 1917, in Straw, Mont., to Jack and Fannie Fairbairn.

She married Kenneth Rice Nov. 16, 1931, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Grace’s greatest love was for her family.

She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and working on the farm.

Grace is survived by a son, David Rice of Bonners Ferry; a daughter Donna (Dale) Aarstad of Troy, Mont.; grandsons Jay Rice, Ross (Linda) Robertson, and Rex (Carolin) Robertson; great-granddaughters Nikki and Naneda, great-grandsons Ryan, Tim and Ben Robertson, four great-great -grandchildren; a sister, Cecil, in Lewistown, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband and nine siblings.
