The body of a Naples man was found  Wednesday.

Boundary County Sheriff deputies located the body of Dustin Dodge, 25, after receiving a call at around 5 a.m. from Burlington Northern Railroad personnel who reported a body being sighted along the railroad tracks south of Bonners Ferry.

According to sheriff deputies,  investigators determined that Dodge and 19-year-old Jebediah Burney boarded a BNSF train in Naples in order to catch a ride to the Deep Creek area.  The two apparently decided to jump from the train, which was traveling at 40 to 45 miles per hour when the train passed their destination without slowing or stopping.

Burney was located at the home of an acquaintance and suffered non-life threatening injuries.  He did not seek medical treatment.

Dodge died at the scene of injuries sustained when he struck the ground.

No charges are expected to be filed by the Sheriff’s office as a result of the incident.
