Mountain West Bank will thank Boundary County’s volunteer firefighters and ambulance personnel with a Hometown Heroes Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at its downtown Bonners Ferry Branch.

Mountain West customer service representative Lila Robinson and customer service manager Annie Swift organized the event, which will recognize South Boundary, Curley Creek North Bench, Paradise Valley, Moyie Springs, Hall Mountain and Bonners Ferry fire departments. Boundary Volunteer Ambulance members also will be recognized.

Robinson and Swift visited each department and took photos for separate collages for each one. Photos include head and group shots of emergency workers, and pictures of past fires and emergencies.

“We’ve been working on this for a month,” Robinson said. “We invited all the firefighters to stop by and view the pictures.”

In other matters, anyone who brings a non-perishable food item to the bank in November will have his name put into a drawing. Two $25 gift certificates for Three Mile Cafe and another for Boundary Trading Co. will be given away.
