New information for fairgrounds

| November 5, 2009 8:00 PM

We are writing to you to inform you of some changes that have taken place at the Boundary County Fair Grounds.  The former Boundary County Parks and Recreation program has been dissolved and the Fair Board has taken on the management of this program, it is now known as Boundary County Youth Recreation Program (BCYRP).  We have hired Angela Hittle as the director for this new program.  As of Oct. 1,  we will be managing the use of the Boundary County Parks area, which include the fairgrounds ball fields, tennis courts, skateboard area, the covered slab and the parks across the river.  Any organization wishing to use these ground for their programs/events need to schedule it through Angela.

Our first organizational meeting will be at 6:30 p.m on Oct. 26, at the fair office.  You are required to attend a meeting and/or submit your request in writing.  We are asking all organizations that have been using the grounds previously to attend or send a representative to the October meeting as this will be a first come first serve basis.  You must submit your schedule for you program by Dec. 31, for the 2010 season.  The October meeting will strictly be a time for you to represent your organization and make a request for what your needs may be and submit a schedule.  At this time we will not be making any decisions.  Once we have received all requests we will take a look at all parties involved and hopefully come up with a schedule and game plan that will accommodate everyone.  Our goal is to try and meet everyone’s needs and make the best use of our resources.   Once we all begin communicating and working together we believe this will produce a positive result for everyone.

Remember in order for us to do this we need everyone to attend or submit their needs and requests (fields, preparation, power, water, etc…), and practice/game schedules to our monthly meeting.  Meeting dates are Oct. 26, Nov. 30, and Dec. 28.  You must attend one of these meetings or send in writing to the Boundary County Youth Recreation Program, P.O. Box 3098, Bonners Ferry, Id. 83805.  You may also drop off your requests to the Fair Office 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Mon. through Wed.  If you plan on attending the meeting you need to call Angela Hittle at 290-1068 to get on the agenda.

Remember it is mandatory that you submit your requested schedule by Dec. 31, for the upcoming 2010 season.  This will allow us time prior to the spring to put together a collaborative schedule and see what the needs are and how we can best accommodate them.  The collaborative schedule will be posted outside the Fair Office for public knowledge and information.

We look forward to hearing from you and thank you.
