Skeen commended for professionalism
Yesterday, I was in the Boundary County Commissioners meeting to ask about the new recycling plan to help keep our Boundary County landfill open.
Many in the community are concerned and a little uncertain about how the new, more centralized refuse and recycling plan will affect them. During the meeting, Mr. Claine Skeen, the Boundary County Solid Waste Department supervisor, was available to answer questions and describe the specifics of the plan.
I don’t know about everyone, but the new recycling plan certainly will entail more travel than the morning trip to the Dumpsters at Good Grief.
Mr. Skeen explained how important this plan is if we want to keep our landfill open and save tax dollars rather than sending our trash to Saint Maries.
With fuel prices as high as they are and with our unemployment numbers in the vicinity of 14 percent, we need to make this happen. We need to adjust to the new realities of solid waste disposal and recycling and get on-board.
Boundary County is very luck to have a man as competent and professional as Claine Skeen.
Keep up the good work Claine.
