Friday evening’s annual Fall Fashion Show to benefit Boundary County Youth Crisis and Domestic Violence Hotline netted more than $2,600 before expenses.

Under the Sun, Boardwalk Boutique and Boardwalk at Riverstone sponsored this fundraiser at the Boundary County Fairgrounds.

Organizers showcased this winter season’s fashion offerings, everything from chic and stylish machine-washable knits to intricately interesting Pashminas. There was a serenade of blue jeans of diverse fits and a visceral feast of blouses, bags and vests abounded with gilt-y hardware, evident craftsmanship and a proud nod of optimism.

The central message of both the styled myriad and from the eclectic performers, which included live music by Bright Moments and vocal performances from four Bonners Ferry High School students, was a welcomed boost in community morale and a luminescent look to future prosperity.

The fashion show’s models included residents Becky Watts, Beverly Lamb, Cathi Winkleseth, Julie Buck, Robin Ponsness, Katie Huggins, Rachel Stippich, Brandy Huckabee, Carrie Figgins and Val Thompson.

The show’s highlights consisted of Val Thompson in a Frank Lyman animal print knit dress, a divine and positively unisex madras plaid vest with removable hood from True Grit, a hand-painted sweater knit shawl by From the Heart and the Chocolate equestrian jacket that Brandy Huckabee promptly de-vested in a proud parade.
