BONNERS FERRY — In a hearing Wednesday, Roland Hall, 56, and Dennis L. Liermann, 32, waived their right to a speedy preliminary hearing.

Hall of Bonners Ferry and Liermann of Naples are accused of each taking a bull elk on Sept. 5, one day before archery season.  Both were charged with killing and possessing the elk during closed season.

Rex Finney, attorney for the two men,  requested to have more time to review the discovery with his clients.

Judge Debra Heise informed Hall and Liermann  the next preliminary hearing may not be scheduled until the end of November  or beginning of December and that both  would be scheduled at the same time.

Heise also discussed possible conflicts with the men sharing Finney as their attorney.

Both Hall and Liermann waived any conflict.

Heise said that all the hearings regarding the matter will be held in the Boundary County Courthouse.

Conservation Officer Rob Soumas attended the hearing and told the Herald he expects a resolution by the next hearing date.
